Afya Kamilifu Project

Afya Kamilifu is a project that is being implemented in partnership with Amref Health Africa with funding support from PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to support the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MOHCDGEC)/National AIDS Control Program (NACP), and President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG) on delivering  comprehensive HIV care and treatment services in Mara, Simiyu, Tanga regions and Zanzibar. Afya Plus as a sub awardee to Amref Health Africa in this five years project (2018-2023), is responsible for providing technical assistance on strengthening and sustaining a comprehensive package of quality, safe voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) services among adolescents and adult men 15 years and above in the targeted Councils/SNUs in Simiyu and Mara regions with the following objectives: –

• Smooth start up, expansion of new static sites and sustaining client centered VMMC service delivery in Simiyu and Mara regions.
• Integrating COVID-19 vaccination services as part of VMMC services at facility and community settings.
• Provision of VMMC Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) technical support and guidance per WHO, PEPFAR and National standards to maintain quality and safety of VMMC services.
